The other day on pinterest I came across a really cute nail design of a glitter ombre. I obviously had to borrow the idea. My base color is 2 coats of The Face Shop, GR501. I then carefully applied a couple of thin layers of Illamasqua, Spartan. I could have gone a little more intense with the glitter concentration at the tips. Next time, I suppose. Enjoy!

Would you rock a glitter ombre look?
I feel bad for the trees in NYC. They've barely started turning and they already got thier little leave butts kicked by a rediculous, unseasonable snow this past weekend. In their honor I painted my nails the colors the leaves SHOULD be.
I started with 2 coats of The Face Shop, YL 201 (a golden yellow) then I used a small makeup sponge to add on 2 layers of Barry M, 301 Block Orange then a layer CND, Poppyfield. Then at the very tips I sponged on a sheer layer of OPI, You Don't Know Jacques. After that I used a striping brush to add leaf veins with more OPI, You Don't Know Jacques.
Enjoy!

Happy monday (what an oxymoron) kittens! Hope you all had a fantastic weekend. I finally got out of my rut of single color nails and back into a little fun! Hooray! This weeks manicure was inspired by plaid and baskets. My back color is a pastel yellow with no fun name, The Face Shop, YL701. I then painted on criss crossing stripes with a stripe brush using Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure, 310 Guilty Pleasure. I think it turned out well and people even asked me if it was one of those nail stickers.

Happy Monday, Kittens! This weeks manicure is a different take on ombre than what I usually do. I thought I would try out the individual nail color ombre as opposed to the faded, technique heavy gradient ombre. After I was finished with the whole thing I decided that the index finger color didn't really work quite right. Unfortunatelyly I don't have another medium green that had the correct finish to sub. Oh well.
From thumb to pinky: OPI, Jade is the new black; China Glaze In The Lime Light; OPI, Who The Shrek Are You; The Face Shop, YL 201 and The Face Shop YL701. Since In The Lime Light has a slightly different finish (shimmery neon) and the rest were flat/cream colors I decided to top them all off with a sheer shimmering top coat Rimmel, Jubilation. That way the neon color could play nice with the rest and not stand out too much.
Here it is. Enjoy!

A few weeks ago my parents came to visit me in NYC. We had such a good time running around Manhattan and Brooklyn eating and sight seeing. I remember picking up my mom's hand and telling her she needed some hand lotion, BADLY. (Sorry Mom!) She said that she didn't use hand lotion because she didn't like the way it made her hands feel greasy. I guess I can understand that; but as someone who shoots a lot of pictures of hands/nails, I need to have well-moistureized hands.
I went through my archive of lotions and potions too see if I could find one that moistuized without leaving a slick residue. The one that I found that I liked the best was from The Face Shop. It comes in an adorable fruit-shaped package and smells awesome. The scent that I adore is grapefruit. (Packaging looks more like an orange, but whatever) It keeps your hands super hydrated without all the residue many other hand creams leave. Priced at around $8 it doesn't break the bank. Sadly I cannot tell you all more about the product since the entire package is in Korean.

Do you have a favorite hand lotion? Ever tried prducts from The Face Shop?
Today in NYC its rainy, misty and downright miserable. I swear, at one point this morning it seemed like it was raining directly on to my face. Oh spring, you are a SUCH b-i-t-c-h sometimes. Since there will be no sunshine for the next few days I created my own. I recently picked up a couple of beautiful pastel nail polish shades at The Face Shop, a Korean beauty boutique located in the 30's. (see beauty map for location details) Unfortunately, I cannot find a name for the colors so if you want to recreate this, just find a pastel yellow and mint green.
I started with 2 coats of the pastel yellow. Then with a makeup sponge, I dabbed sheer layers of the pastel/mint green to build the gradation. I then used Brucci, Mí Papi to finish off the gradation towards the tips of my nails. Sometimes doing this sort of design can be tricky. Be patient and work in sheer layers. This particular one took about 7. It sounds a little crazy to do that many layers, but honestly they dry pretty quickly so you won't spend all day working on your nails.
Enjoy!

While walking around the herald square area with @fashionstbeauty @NYCReese and @StyleIT a new little shop was discovered. It's in Koereatown and it is amazing. They sell really interesting mask and skincare products. There is also a line of makeup and nail polish. The great part is, you can buy your products then go next door for Koerean BBQ. YUM!
While I was there I picked up a few of the funky sheet masks. I had a LONG day yesterday so the Lavender & Neroli one was perfect. I totally looked like something out of a horror movie while wearing it. Afterwards my skin felt pretty slimy but that's because you're not supposed to rinse it off. Weird. However my skin looked pretty nice in the morning. I have a few different ones to try out.

The map has been updated! Have you been to The Face Shop? Do you love it? Let me know, kittens!
