Unless you've been hiding under a rock (or not surfing the blogosphere) you are aware of the Mui Mui glitter booties that have the fashion world going completely bonkers. These booties are so GORGE but so out of my price rance. Since my lottery numbers have yet to hit, there will be no glitter botties for me. I rufuse to sit out this fashion game so I opted for the next best thing (for me): NAIL ART! I created nails based on the designs of the green/gold and the peach/silver versions of these amazing shoes.

Inspiration:

Silver and peach $890 Gold and Pistachio $890 Images via Net a Porter

Gold/Green

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure, Gilty Pleasure (gold)
Sephora by OPI, Charge it!  (warm-toned gold with pearl finish)
China Glaze, Re-fresh Mint (light mint green)
Color Club, Black
Milani Jewel FX, 531 Gold

Peach/Silver:

Color Club, What a Drag (chome-silver)
Wet & Wild Wild Shine, 437F Blazed (coral peach)
Color Club, Black
Nyx Silver Glitter mixed with generic clear polish

Do you ever rock designer inspired nails?

I skipped last week's mani monday because of the Memorial Day Holiday. I'm back in full effect this week with a whimsical spring look. I used 2 coats of Brucci, Mi Papi for my base color and added the chunky glitter goodness of Wet & Wild Fast Dry, Party of Five Glitters on top. Enjoy!

Beauty on a Shoestring: Wet & Wild Color Icon Eye Kit: Night Elf

For my final installment of Lesleykat loves color icon holiday palettes, we are going to chat about the Wet & Wild Night Elf Color Icon eye kit. This particular set is the most unique out of all of them. It offers a wide range of colors that don't necessisarily need to be worn together but when worn together will make for a very dramatic look. If you're not in to drama, then this baby is probably not for you.

If the red shadow seems a little scary to you, don't be! It's very pigmented and will not create that sick look that often happens with red shadows. A trick to pulling it off is to keep a black line between the red and your eyes using a black eyeliner. Having this separation keeps the red from making you look sickly.

The Night Elf Color Icon Eye Kit is a palette of six unique, highly-pigmented colors that retail for $4.99.
From left to right, top to bottom: (Labeled in the shot)

1. Warm frosty white with shimmer
2. Silver with bright silvery shimmer
3. Dirty taupe gold with shimmer
4. Bright red with red shimmer
5. Plum with green duochrome
6. Matte black with silver glitters

Eye pencil included in the set is black with silver glitters. As with the rest of the kits, this doesn't live up to the performance of the eyeshadows.

This installment of the Wet & Wild Color Icon Eye Kits focuses on  the Sugar Plum Fairy holiday set. Once again, our hero, has six beautiful, high-pigment shadows and a dinky little liner. (yes, dinky, I don't care for it.)

The Sugar Plum Fairy Color Icon Eye Kit is a palette of three pinks and purples, and three warm-toned golden pinks and plums that retails for $4.99.
From left to right, top to bottom: (Labeled in the shot)

1. White with a light pink duochrome
2. Warm tan-pink with shimmer and silver glitters
3. Light lilac with golden shimmer
4. Golden muted pink with golden shimmer
5. Medium-dark purple with cool shimmer
6. Deep plum with warm pink-toned shimmer

Eye Pencil included is a warm-toned purple with a hint of shimmer. Its actually a nice color, but the formula is a little to hard for my liking and doesn't apply easily.

Welcome to another episode of Lesleykat loves color icon. I RAVED over the Wet & Wild Golden Goddess Color Icon eye set and I will continue to rave over all of the sets. I really think they are a fantastic deal. I've photographed and swatched the Snow Sprite palette for you all here.

Snow Sprite is on the cool side, but of course it attracted be because of the muted golds and greens. The silvers and blues will work beautifully on cool skintones.

The Snow Sprite Color Icon Eye Kit is a palette of three warm-toned golds and green and three cool-toned silvers and blues. that retails for $4.99.
From left to right, top to bottom: (Labeled in the shot)

1. Bright muted white-gold with muted gold shimmer
2. Cool-toned blue-silver with shimmer
3. Softened chartreuse green with shimmer
4. Blue-toned silver with silver shimmer
5. Warm forest green with  shimmer
6. Dark navy blue with silvery and blue shimmer

Beauty on a shoestring: Wet & Wild Color Icon Eye Kit: Golden Goddess

As a child I would stare at the racks of brightly colored bottles of Wet & Wild nail polish. As a pre-teen I would fill my Caboodle (am I dating myself here?) with those polishes as well as what ever makeup I was playing with at the time. A teenage me moved on to other drugstore makeup but still held on to my favorite black and iridescent fuchsia polishes that I grew up loving. Skip on a few more years and I pretty much cut any inkling of Wet & Wild out of my life and makeup routine until NOW.

I recently rediscovered the new products that they're creating. They have really stepped it up with fantastically pigmented color icon eyeshadow palettes and have released a handfull of gorgeous palettes for the holidays that rival many expensive brands.

The Golden Goddess Color Icon Eye Kit is a palette of six warm, golden and bronze-toned colors. From left to right, top to bottom: (Labeled in the shot)
1. Soft warm pink with golden shimmer
2. Orange-peach with golden glitter/shimmer flecks
3. Bright orange-bronze with soft golden shimmer
4. Copper-Bronze with bronze shimmer
5. Terracotta with bonze and golden shimmer
6. Medium-dark warm brown with golden glitter/shimmer flecks

The items that are noted with glitter/shimmer flecks are more on the side of satin finish with pieces of tiny glitter rather than a shimmery finish. The set also comes with a mini liner in a warm brown with golden shimmer. I don't think the liners are nearly as good as the eyeshadows. I swatched all items over an eyeshadow base and without a base. Obviously they look better over the base. I think this particular set would look great over a gold or white cream product to really pop the color. The dark color obviously does NOT have the payoff unless applied over a base. (see bottom picture) The shadows are pretty soft but not so soft that they blend completely away. The liner is on the hard side and I really haven't worn it so I cannot share about it's wearability.

I bought all 4 of them, so more lovely pictures and swatches to come!
