The first two in the series covered skincare and makeup. My third and last installation of travel tips for product junkies is all about hair and body. Not to be confused with body hair. Just get a wax and bring a razor for touch ups for that and you're all set. right?

As I noted in the skincare installment of this series, you don't always know what your destination's water conditions will be. You could bring lotion or even rely on your hotel's lotion (seriously is that stuff EVER good? Usually not unless you're staying boutique or fancy.) but you don't want to do that. A really great solution is an in-shower moisturizer. These came up on the market a few years back and haven't gotten NEARLY the attention they deserve. They're easy to use and FACT, during fashion week models are asked to use this instead of regular body lotion to keep the skin on their bodies supple without transferring product to the designer duds. A quarter size rubbed on arms, on each leg and another size on your torso after shampooing and cleansing is enough to sink in. Rinse and done.
Lesleykat's Pick: Olay Quench In-shower body lotion, of course you should probably squirt some into a travel tube since this stuff comes in a HUGE package; 15.2 oz to be exact. Available at drug stores $6.99

Again, the water is going to ruin your life. Your hair's life. I suggest bringing your richest conditioner to ensure your hair can make it through hell or hard water. I know that I can't trust my hair to some crazy 2-in-1-hotel-bullpoo and I'm guessing if you're reading this you can't either. 
Lesleykat's Pick: Neutrogena Triple Moisture Mask, this thick, rich conditioner/mask will cut through any tangles in seconds and leaves hair soft and manageable.

For the love of all things holy, do not forget your hairspray. If you end up putting your hair up every day on your trip you'll need that stuff to keep everything in place. If you are forgoing your flatiron, then you'll need it to calm your frizz. (if you don't have frizz I hate you a little, but you obviously don't need this advise)

First up was skincare. This second installment is all about makeup. Bringing too much makeup weighs you down and you run the risk of having it damaged during travel. I always carry on my makeup when I fly. If you can't do that then be sure to get a padded travel case and pack it in the middle of your suitecase. Protect it with clothes. They're natural shock barriers. I usually don't have a problem getting my makeup, including foundation, through security but to be safe, don't take a bunch of full size foundations. God forbid they do give you trouble and make you throw it out. Avoid the heartbreak and follow my tips below.

Try to settle on a few makeup looks you can do quickly and easily. Bring only your most used colors and be sure to take into account your clothing. If you're packing sweats and Ugg boots, you probably don't want to do a full on smokey eye so keep it simple. If you plan on dressing up everyday then by all means, go for the drama! But since you can't bring all your shadows with you, the best bet is bring a palette of your most used colors. Many brands make palettes with coordinating colors. However, I'm a custom palette kind of gal.
Lesleykat's Pick: Z Palette, holds shadows and blushes of all shapes and sizes with a stong magnet closure to ensure nothing falls out. Available at zpalette.com (and some professional makeup stores) $20 for large $14 for small

As a product junkie, leaving my assortment of foundations at home is like leaving behind my children. (Until I actually have children, my makeups are my babies.) By choosing the most effective and easy to use foundation, you do yourself a favor. Pick one that's easy to apply and doesn't use too many peripherals like primers, brushes, etc... One that can apply with your fingers or one single brush is best.
Lesleykat's Pick: MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation, this gel-based, buildable, medium-coverage foundation can be applied with fingers and has a built in SPF. Remember what I said about bringing SPF? Can also be sheered out with water/fix+/moisturizer. Does NOT need a primer to stay put. A little powder in your oily areas keeps this stuff on all day. Available in a wide range of shades at MAC counters and Stores $29.50

A good concealer palette can help you forgo foundation completely (or just make your skin look even better). A green-yellow based concealer will help conceal acne spots while a pink-peach concealer banishes under-eye circles in a flash. A concealer with your matching skintone can help reduce uneven tone or redness around the nose and chin.
Lesleykat's Pick(s): Kryloan Dermacolor Concealer Palette, this product is not easy to find so another great palette I suggest is the Makeup Forever 5 Camouflage Cream palette. Available at Sephora $36

Oh and you kids with the airbrush machines, LEAVE THEM HOME! Bringing them is just silly. If you do you'll have room to pack another pair of shoes!

One of the most sought after beauty goodies amongst the beauty world are the Sleek iDivine Palettes. These palettes include 12 mineral colors at a super inexpensive price. First up is skincare. Taking care of your skin on a trip can prove difficult. Packing your most effective products is super duper important. Products that multi-task can drasticly cut down on the amount of bottles in your bag, not to mention weight. Of course if you have travel sized bottles, that always helps. Most drug stores now carry TSA-approved bottles that make the crazy security lines a little easier. Of course, it defeats the purpose if you try to bring a hundred bottles.

Make sure you take your makeup off every single night. Makeup wipes travel easily, and are totally TSA friendly. The same can't be said for your giant bottle of cleansing oil. Bonus tip: I like to rinse after I take off my makeup with wipes to remove any remaining residue.

You may not know what the water conditions are where you are going which can make it hard to be prepared. Better a bit over-moisturized than under. Bring something with medium to heavy moisture. Flying and travel in general tends to dry out skin. You want to be able to enjoy yourself and not feel like your skin is resembling a scaly swamp creature.
Lesleykat's Pick: Clinique Moisture On-line. Sadly this particular product has been discontinued, I haven't tried the Moisture Surge collection which seems to have replaced the On-Call line. I would place my bet on it being a similar product. It's suited for all skintypes, which is an added bonus.  $34 for 1.7 oz.

If you have finicky skin (like me) than you will probably break out on your trip. (Oh great! This zit is the size of the freakin' eiffel tower!) Make sure you bring your most effective acne-fighting product. Don't bring your whole 17-step system, pick one. If it's a product that has exfoliating properties, even better!
Lesleykat's Pick: Proactive Renewing Cleanser, available at proactive.com and Proactive Kiosks $27.75 for 90-day supply

I don't care if you're going to Bermuda or Siberia, you're not taking a vacation from UVA/UVB rays. (ok, if you are going to Iceland in the winter, you are excused. As for the rest of you...) If your moisturizer doesn't have SPF in it you should at the very least bring a foundation that contains SPF15 or higher. Even better, bring a product that can multi-task.
Lesleykat's Pick: Dr Jart+ Premium Beauty Balm, boasts a SPF45 with skin-evening coverage and moisture infusion. Available at Sephora $39
