Lip stains are super hot for summer since they deliver color with minimal effort and don't melt under sunlight. I recently picked up a few NY Color Smooch Proof 16-hour lip stains from the drug store. Do they stack up?
Pros: They deliver instant color that won't melt down under heat. They stay in place with out any bleeding or runing. They come in a variety of colors. At $4.99, they super affordable.
Cons: They definetly do not stay for 16 hours. The wear is more like a couple of hours at most if you're not eating or drinking. The colors aren't exactly true to the packaging. If you have darker lips these may not show up, especially the lighter colors. You lips must be in good condition to use these. Any flaking or dry lips will produce a not so attractive outcome. Top with gloss or lip balm.
The bottome line, if you buy these, I'd stick to the darker colors and be sure to keep your lips in good condition when wearing.
I tried the red lip stain. The quality's decent, although the red was too garish for my skin tone. But the other colors are very pretty, overall I'd recommend them. Thanks for the swatches!
