DING DING DING! It's time for a beauty smackdown! Today's contendors are 2 very similar nail polish colors of the top coat variety. These sheer bases contain shimmery particles that magically transform flat colors to beautiful, glittering, eye-catching nails.

Jesse's Girl Firefly
Almost clear base with gold micro glitter/shimmer particles that have a green and blue duochrome shift. It lightens and brightens whatever color is underneath. Can be purchased at drug stores. Rite aid in NYC.
China Glaze White Cap
Clear base with bright gold micro glitter/shimmer. It lightens color underneath. Very, very subtle green duochrome shift. Can be purchased at Sally Beauty supply or Ulta.
Here's we go! I used a medium tone blue (Zoya, Robin) and a super dark, almost-black color (CND, Oil Slick) as my background test colors. These two top coats do react differently on different tones. I didn't show a light variety because both colors don't have the dramatit shift. Best results on medium and dark colors.
What do you think? Is there one that tickles your fancy more than the other? Who is the winner?
As much as I LOVE White Cap's gorgeous blingy gold the winner for me is Firefly. The duochrome speaks to me (not literally, haha!) and I cannot resist the amazing color shifts. I also really love the variety of particle sizes.
